Role / Key Responsibilities (Brief)
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the school transport department, including buses and support staff.
- Ensure safe and timely pick-up/drop of students as per approved routes and schedules.
- Monitor bus attendance, route planning, and optimize transport operations.
- Supervise drivers, conductors/attendants, and maintain discipline and punctuality.
- Ensure compliance with school transport safety norms, RTO regulations, permits, insurance, PUC, and fitness certificates.
- Coordinate regular vehicle maintenance, repairs, servicing, and cleanliness of buses.
- Handle transport-related parent queries/concerns professionally and maintain communication regarding delays or route changes.
- Maintain transport records, MIS reports, vendor coordination, fuel logs, and incident reports.
- Conduct regular safety checks, emergency drills, and ensure GPS/CCTV/first-aid equipment are functional.
- Work closely with school administration to ensure smooth and safe transport operations.
Pre-requisites / Eligibility (Brief)
- Graduate in any discipline preferred.
- Relevant experience of 3–5 years in school transport/fleet management/transport operations.
- Good knowledge of school transport safety standards, RTO compliances, route mapping, and vehicle maintenance.
- Experience in handling drivers/support staff and coordinating with parents/vendors.
- Basic computer skills for reports, email communication, and MIS.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible, alert, and able to manage emergencies calmly.
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in a CBSE/School transport environment.
