Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Transport Manager – Employee Transportation. The Transport Manager will oversee end-to-end employee transportation operations, including route planning, shift-wise scheduling, vendor coordination, and fleet utilization to ensure safe, timely, and cost-efficient commutes. The role involves managing fleet providers and drivers, monitoring adherence to SLAs, handling incident and escalation management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations. The Transport Manager will work closely with client stakeholders, internal teams, and service partners to maintain high levels of service quality, employee satisfaction, and operational discipline. The role also includes daily operational reporting, analysis of transport metrics, and implementation of process improvements aligned with organizational and client objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong Operations Management skills, including end-to-end transportation process oversight, shift planning, and cost control.
- Hands-on Transportation Management and Fleet Management experience, covering routing, scheduling, vendor management, and compliance.
- Excellent Customer Service and Communication abilities to interact effectively with employees, clients, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale employee transportation or similar logistics operations, preferably in IT/BPO or corporate environments.
- Working knowledge of transport safety protocols, statutory regulations, and best practices for employee commute management.
- Proficiency in using transport management software, Excel, and reporting tools to track KPIs and drive data-based decisions.
- Strong problem-solving, people management, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24x7 operational setup.
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or a related field; relevant certifications in logistics or transport management are an advantage.
