Role Description The Transport Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Jalandhar. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising daily transport operations, including vehicle dispatch, route planning, and load scheduling. The Transport Manager oversees fleet utilization, monitors driver performance, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with customers and internal teams, resolving service issues, managing documentation, and optimizing costs and delivery times. The role also involves tracking key performance indicators, implementing process improvements, and supporting the training and development of operations staff.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including planning, scheduling, and process optimization.
- Candidates should possess Transportation Management skills, with experience in route planning, regulatory compliance, and logistics coordination.
- Candidates should possess Fleet Management skills, including vehicle allocation, maintenance coordination, and fuel and cost control.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Communication skills to handle client inquiries, manage expectations, and collaborate with internal teams.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, or business management are beneficial.
- Experience in transport or logistics operations, including managing drivers and schedules, is preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities, proficiency with transport management software or spreadsheets, and attention to detail are advantageous.
- Ability to work on-site in Jalandhar, make timely decisions under pressure, and maintain high standards of safety and integrity.
