Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Translator (Chinese) cum Business Development Officer. The role involves translating written and verbal communication between Chinese and English, including emails, contracts, product specifications, and technical documents to support seamless collaboration with partners and clients. The position also requires identifying new business opportunities, supporting market research in Chinese and English, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and assisting in developing proposals and presentations. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate records of communications, helping negotiate and follow up on deals, and contributing to relationship-building efforts across the India–China industrial corridor. The role calls for proactive communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong Chinese–English translation and interpretation skills, with the ability to handle technical and business documentation accurately.
- Business development capabilities, including lead generation, client relationship management, and support for sales or commercial negotiations.
- Competence in market research and analysis, with the ability to synthesize information from Chinese and English sources for decision-making.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity in professional correspondence and reporting.
- Familiarity with industrial or engineering-related products or services, or a willingness to learn technical concepts quickly.
- Comfort working remotely, with strong organizational skills, time management, and proficiency in common digital collaboration tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Languages, International Trade, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in cross-border trade, export–import operations, or working with Chinese markets is an advantage.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
