Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Translational Microbiology Scientist to join our team on-site at our Hyderabad location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing microbiological experiments, performing translational research for respiratory infection treatments, and developing preclinical models to support drug discovery. You will analyze data, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to authoring scientific publications and regulatory documentation. Your work will directly support the development of innovative therapies that address significant unmet medical needs in the respiratory health domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate microbiological basis of target indications including pathogen prevalence and infection complexity
• Identify and justify optimal antibiotic candidates based on spectrum, resistance, and clinical relevance.
• Analyze pathogens including biofilm-forming and resistance-prone organisms.
• Assess AMR risks, chronic infection biology, and recurrence mechanisms.
• Translate microbiology insights into product development inputs. (formulation, device, performance)
• Define microbiological requirements (activity, preservative strategy, contamination risks)
• Conduct comprehensive literature review and evidence synthesis from scientific publications, treatment guidelines, patents, labels, microbiology references, and regulatory documents.
• Prepare regulatory-style technical documentation and reports
• Conduct in-depth literature reviews across scientific and regulatory sources

Required Expertise

• Strong understanding of AMR, biofilms,antibiotics and infection microbiology
• Experience interpreting MIC, MBC, and susceptibility data
• Familiarity with microbiology assays and microbial control strategies
• Proficiency in literature databases (PubMed, Scopus, etc.)
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Qualifications

• MSc Microbiology or related Life Sciences field
• 0-3 years of relevant experience
