Company Description
Khaangchu is a community-rooted, alternative learning space based in Noney District, Manipur, reviving the traditional Rongmei Morung—an indigenous institution where children historically learned culture, responsibility, and leadership.
We exist in response to an education system that has disconnected children from their language, land, and identity, while failing to equip them for the realities of their lives. At Khaangchu, we blend Indigenous Knowledge Systems with foundational literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional learning, and problem-solving to nurture children who grow with dignity, confidence, and purpose.
Our work is deeply co-created with parents, elders, youth, and community leaders. We are not a school imposed on the community—we are a learning space of the community, by the community, and for the community. Our vision is to build a legacy of peace, prosperity, and shared opportunity in Northeast India.
