Position Summary
The Vice President of Information Technology (VP, IT) is a strategic executive responsible for the overall technology vision, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation of the organization. This role ensures that IT systems, data, and processes enable business growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance while delivering secure, scalable, and cost‑effective technology solutions.
The VP, IT partners closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to align technology strategy with organizational goals and to drive innovation across operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the enterprise IT strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on technology, digital innovation, and cybersecurity risk.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing IT organization, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and support functions.
- Establish IT governance, policies, and standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance.
Technology & Infrastructure
- Oversee enterprise systems including ERP, MES, CRM, HRIS, data platforms, and collaboration tools.
- Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of networks, servers, cloud platforms, and end‑user technologies.
- Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, system integrations, and automation.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service‑level agreements.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, including risk assessments, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
- Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency through digital tools, data analytics, and automation.
- Partner with operations, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders to enable smart manufacturing and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Champion innovation while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value.
Financial & Operational Management
- Develop and manage the IT operating and capital budgets.
- Optimize total cost of ownership while maintaining service quality and security.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure IT effectiveness and business impact.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required;
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 7–10 years in senior IT leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale IT environments in manufacturing, industrial, or complex operational settings preferred.
Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Strong knowledge of enterprise systems (ERP, cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, infrastructure).
- Demonstrated success leading digital transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Experience managing large budgets, complex vendor ecosystems, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and change‑management skills.
