Full Job Description
Seeking self-motivated individuals with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. The role of a dispatcher is an essential part of the company. Trans-Care Ambulance is a family owned and operated company and one of the largest ambulance services in the state of Indiana. We are a 24/7 dispatch center that is responsible for handling over 100,000 calls per year. We currently operate in 7 different markets in Indiana and Kentucky. Those with backgrounds in customer service, data entry, logistics, or healthcare are encouraged to apply. The position is 36-48 hours per week on overnights, rotating shifts. Candidates must have the capability to work weekends.
Responsibilities
- Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record pertinent information.
- Dispatch units in the field while keeping track of their location and status.
- Monitor CAD grid to ensure efficient utilization is achieved.
- Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
- Keep close contact with facilities regarding patient transportation.
- Proactively address problems and suggest solutions.
Qualifications
- A clear criminal record with no Federal health care exclusion.
- Applicants with a current Priority Dispatch EMD are preferred, but Trans-Care will help an otherwise qualified employee obtain the EMD certification.
