Company Description
Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT) is a Delhi-based non-profit working with young women and girls from marginalised communities in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, and expanding to other states across India. We use technology, digital skills, and leadership development as tools for social change.
Our flagship programme — the Collectivisation Initiative (CI) — is a three-year leadership journey for young women. It combines intensive residential training in Manali, field work in participants’ own communities, and ongoing online learning. Young women who complete it go on to form and lead community collectives that run our programmes for girls across their regions.
In July 2026, we launch our largest-ever cohort of 25 participants from Bihar and Jharkhand. In January 2027, a second cohort of 25 begins. The Training Consultant leads the team that will deliver training to both cohorts.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced training professional to join us as Training Consultant and lead our training team. This is not a generalist or programme management role — it is specifically for someone who brings deep expertise in residential training delivery for young women from marginalised communities, and who has the skill and instinct to build and lead a team of trainers to a consistent high standard.
You will plan, facilitate, and continuously improve the CI training programme across two residential cohorts running simultaneously from January 2027. You will recruit, induct, and mentor a growing team of specialist Trainer Companions. You will be the primary driver of training quality across everything the team delivers.
You will work alongside our programme management lead on the ground, and report to our senior programme lead remotely. You will operate under the guidance of our organisational leadership and Coach.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in training design and delivery for multi-phase, residential or community-based programmes.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating in-person training with young women or girls from low-income or marginalised backgrounds — including at least one residential programme of 3 months or longer.
- Experience leading or managing a team of trainers or facilitators: assigning responsibilities, observing sessions, giving structured feedback, and developing junior facilitators.
- Ability and willingness to live in residential settings for extended periods — including approximately 3 months in Manali from August to October 2026, with further residential blocks from January 2027.
- Strong Hindi proficiency, spoken and written — all training delivery and participant interaction is in Hindi.
- Demonstrated commitment to feminist, facilitative (non-didactic) pedagogy — the ability to hold space for participants’ own voice rather than transmitting content.
- No active professional conduct violations or POSH complaints in any previous engagement.
