Role Overview
The L&D Officer will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering training programs that build technical capability, strengthen supervisory skills, and support leadership development within the garments division. The role plays a key part in ensuring employees are trained in operational standards, production processes, and organizational practices while supporting talent development initiatives and audit requirements across units.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
• Conduct classroom training programs on technical and non-technical topics including IoT in sewing lines, Claimed Materials Assessment (CMA), and 5S/6S Trainings.
• Deliver supervisor skill development programs and other functional capability trainings.
On-the-Job Training & Process Support
• Facilitate on-the-job training and monitor adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Address improvement points raised during production meetings.
• Support initiatives such as Quick Change Over (QCO) and operational skill improvement.
Learning Content Development
• Develop training materials including presentations, case studies, worksheets, and assessment tools.
• Support creation of technical training content related to production and quality processes.
• Coordinate internal training videos, including shooting and editing where required.
Training Coordination
• Plan and schedule training programs in coordination with department heads and unit teams.
• Track training participation and maintain training records and documentation.
Assessment & Training Effectiveness
• Conduct pre- and post-training evaluations and analyse learning outcomes.
• Evaluate case studies and worksheets and provide feedback to participants.
• Provide one-to-one coaching or counselling where necessary and prepare training reports.
Talent Development Programs
• Coordinate internal development initiatives such as the First Ladder program (internal promotion from operator) and the Emerging Leader Development Program.
Audit & Compliance
• Conduct internal audits across Tirupur units and ensure training documentation meets compliance requirements.
• Coordinate closure of audit observations related to training activities.
KPI Coordination & Reporting
• Track training-related KPIs and prepare dashboards and reports for management review.
Travel Requirement
This role requires regular travel between company locations including Perundurai and units within Tirupur. Travel will mostly be arranged through company transport depending on training schedules and operational needs.
Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Organizational Development.
• Experience in the garments or apparel manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
• Master’s degree in any discipline. Additional certifications in Training, HR, or L&D are preferred.
