Position Overview:
As a Trainee/Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the
design and development of mechanical components, systems, and products. You will work
under the supervision and guidance of experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience
in various aspects of mechanical design engineering.
Responsibilities:
● Assisting in the design and development of mechanical components,
systems, and products according to project requirements and specifications.
● Collaborating with senior engineers and team members to brainstorm ideas,
create concepts, and develop design solutions.
● Conducting research and gathering relevant information to support the
design process, including materials selection, manufacturing processes, and
industry standards.
● Creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (CAD)
software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
● Participating in design reviews and providing input to improve designs for
functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
● Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, such as engineering
drawings, specifications, and test reports.
● Supporting prototype development and testing activities, analyzing test
results, and making recommendations for design modifications
● Staying updated with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements
in mechanical design engineering.
● Adhering to project timelines and delivering assigned tasks within specified
deadlines.
Preferred Project Experience (Academic or Personal):
● Product Design & Prototyping: Experience in designing and developing prototypes using
CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360) and basic manufacturing methods like 3D printing
or machining.
● Thermal & Refrigeration Systems: Exposure to heat transfer, cooling systems, or
energy-efficient designs such as solar-powered or battery-operated devices.
● Analysis & Optimization: Basic knowledge of structural or thermal simulations (ANSYS) and
applying design improvements through testing and validation.
● Innovation & Integration: Participation in design competitions, mini projects involving
sensor or IoT integration with mechanical systems.
● Technical Clubs & Competitions: Active member of Student Technical clubs, participated in
national-level design events such as SAE SUPRA and SAE BAJA.
