About the Role
Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and someone who takes pride in a job well done? TrailersPlus is looking for an energetic Parts & Service Assistant (PSA) to join our Lot Operations team!
As a PSA, you will be the backbone of our Parts & Service Department. You will be hands-on with inbound and outbound inventory, installing parts, servicing trailers of all makes and models, and making sure our products look great and operate safely for our customers. If you enjoy working outdoors, using your hands, and keeping a facility running smoothly, we want you on our team!
What You Will Do
Inspections & Maintenance: Perform daily safety and quality control inspections on lot trailers.
Hands-On Service: Complete parts and accessories installations, service work, and warranty repairs.
Inventory Control: Assist with all deliveries of trailers, parts, and supplies, ensuring accurate paperwork is submitted to management.
Facility Care: Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and professional building, shop, and lot.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate power tools, welding equipment, and a Kubota tractor (or equivalent). Company certification required.
Team Collaboration: Work strategically with management, attend team meetings, and occasionally assist the management team with trailer sales (sales license required in some states).
What We Are Looking For
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Core Skills: Strong mechanical ability, excellent troubleshooting, and sharp attention to detail.
Communication: Top-notch customer service skills with the ability to diffuse difficult situations. Ability to read safety rules, write occasional reports, and speak effectively with customers. Spoken fluency in Spanish is a major plus!
Math & Tech: Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to calculate figures (discounts, percentages, volume) and apply basic algebra/geometry concepts as needed.
Problem Solving: Ability to communicate and resolve practical problems where only limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working in an active, hands-on environment.
Physical Strength: Ability to routinely lift 50 to 75 pounds.
Movement: Frequent kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, reaching, balancing, and climbing ladders or on/off trailers.
Environment: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (including wet/humid environments) and safely handle mechanical parts and materials.
