Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Trailer Equipment, Inc. is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Service Writer to support our Westland service operation. This role is the primary liaison between customers and our service technicians, ensuring service requests are accurately documented, clearly communicated, and completed efficiently.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment that includes both office and yard activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and accurately document service needs
- Prepare service estimates and open work orders
- Coordinate communication between customers, technicians, and internal teams
- Track service progress to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Maintain service records, paperwork, and data in service management systems
- Assist with yard operations, including trailer inspections and basic inventory support
- Address customer questions or concerns professionally and efficiently
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume service environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with service or fleet software preferred
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Prior service advisor, service writer, automotive, or equipment industry experience is a plus
