Role Overview:
The Traditional Jewellery Designer is responsible for creating elegant, culturally inspired, and high-quality jewellery designs rooted in traditional aesthetics. The role requires a deep understanding of heritage design styles, craftsmanship techniques, and current market preferences.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop unique traditional jewellery designs inspired by regional, cultural, and heritage patterns
- Interpret client requirements and translate them into intricate, design-oriented jewellery pieces
- Prepare detailed design briefs and technical specifications for execution by CAD and production teams
- Research domestic and international traditional jewellery trends to keep designs relevant and competitive
- Conduct market and competitor analysis focused on traditional jewellery segments
- Maintain a reference library of traditional patterns, materials, gemstones, and craftsmanship techniques
- Coordinate with CAD designers to develop accurate 3D models while preserving traditional detailing
- Collaborate with casting, setting, and quality control teams to ensure designs meet expected standards
- Ensure timely delivery of designs in line with production schedules
Experience Required: NIFT Fresher or with 2+ years in jewelry design
Education: Diploma/Degree in Jewelry Design or a related field
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong hand sketching and illustration skills for concept development
- Expertise in manual jewellery designing and traditional drawing techniques
- Creative thinking and ability to translate ideas into unique jewellery designs
- CorelDRAW – Technical illustrations, pattern design, and vector graphics
- Procreate – Digital sketches, concept art, and design ideation
- CAD Tools (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, 3Design) – 3D modelling and technical specifications
