Position Name -Assistant Manager - Fund Accounting Settlement Operations
Location - Mumbai
Experience Range - 3 to 6 years
Mandatory Requirement:
- AMC Experience.
- Strong knowledge of trade settlement processes and SEBI regulatory compliance.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve errors in trade reporting.
- Experience in reconciliation and audit control processes.
- High level of analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant financial systems.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Reporting of Trades in FTRAC, CBRICS, ICCL etc.
- Accuracy in trade Settlement with respect to Indian and Offshore capital market of and in a timely
- manner.
- Monitor trade settlements and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the settlement
- process.
- Forex Handling right up to preparation of Trade settlement advice. All Position Check on Expiry day
- Corporate Actions.
- Monitor and process corporate actions such as dividends, mergers, and reorganizations affecting
- mutual fund investments.
- Coordinate with relevant parties, including custodians and fund administrators, to ensure timely and
- accurate processing of corporate actions.
- Monitor cash flows related to investments and ensure adequate liquidity to meet redemption
- requests and other fund obligations.
- Optimize cash balances to minimize idle cash and maximize investment returns within regulatory
- constraints.
- Beyond day-to-day operations, the candidate is expected to have a mindset geared towards
- identifying process gaps. They should proactively pinpoint inefficiencies within existing workflows
- and take immediate corrective actions to address them, all while ensuring compliance is maintained.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of all transactions, positions, and cash balances.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between internal records and external sources, such as
- custodian reports or trade confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, fund prospectuses, and internal policies related to
- mutual fund investments.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports and other required disclosures.
- The responsibilities extend beyond trade settlement to encompass various tasks related to
- investment operations. This includes overseeing compliance measures, monitoring reporting
- processes, and ensuring the efficient functioning of investment-related activities.
- Identify and assess operational risks associated with mutual fund investment processes.
- Implement controls and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency, including
- the development of contingency plans for potential disruptions.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from stakeholders regarding operations and investment processes.
Qualification and Experience:
- Knowledge of Indian and offshore Capital Markets, Different Security Segments on Equity and Fixed
- Income side, Background of Banking and Financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of Mutual Fund products, processes, and industry regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile complex transactions and
- resolve discrepancies.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, especially when dealing with large volumes of data and financial
- information.
- SEBI - Mutual Fund Accounting Standards & Reporting Requirements.
- SEBI guidelines for Mutual Fund Investment limits, Risk Management etc.
- Mutual Fund Books of Accounts of Schemes and Banking Operations.
- Minimum of 3 Years only in the Investment Operations.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with overall 3 years of work experience.
- Graduate/Post Graduate with overall 4 to 5 years of work experience.
- Should have knowledge of the Mutual Fund Business. Can demonstrate ability to work effectively as
- a team.
- Should have latest knowledge on Regulatory guidelines.
Other Details:
- Ability to handle multi-functional processes relating to Custody Operations & Fund Accounting.
- Good inter and intra personal relations for effective rapport building and functionality management.
- Hands on experience on MS Office and aligned software’s.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and eye for detail.
