Could you be the full-time Traction Design Leader (TDL) in Bangalore.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive traction design expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates.
You'll lead and manage the S&A, EHI, NEO MFG, Mechanical, FEA, Thermal, Vibro acoustics, Fire & Smoke and Eco Design resources and their activities on dedicated projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Project Management, Industrial Leads), oversee quality, cost, and delivery of engineering deliverables, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of leading design reviews, managing workload and budget planning for your project, but also supporting manufacturing processes and ensuring effective data exchange with sourcing teams.
We’ll look to you for:
- Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) management of Traction Design deliverables
- Effective workload, budget, and planning leadership for projects
- Proactive reporting on QCD to Traction Managers and alerting management of any issues
- Management of multidisciplinary design teams and engineering activities
- Technical progress reporting and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives
- Close collaboration with Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during production ramp-up
- Ensuring Return of Experience (RoE) and support for the Traction Métier

- Technical education in a relevant field
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge in Traction Design engineering across multiple domains (Mechanical, S&A, EHI, FEA, Spl. discipline & Industrial)
- Overall 10-15years of experience, at least 5 years of experience in Traction Converter Design, with a minimum of 2 years in team management
- Understanding of train systems/functions is highly advantageous
- Good knowledge of both Mehanical & Electrical Integration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with external parties (customers)
- Effective time management and reporting skills
- Structured, organized, and hands-on approach to work
