JOB SUMMARY
Performs a full range of custodial duties related to the interior and exterior care, cleaning, sanitation, and basic upkeep of Town buildings and facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, sanitary, and presentable public spaces for employees, officials, and the public. Work includes operating custodial equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, restocking supplies, supporting special events, and reporting minor maintenance issues. Duties are performed under general supervision and follow established safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets using appropriate custodial equipment.
- Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture, fixtures, woodwork, equipment, and surfaces.
- Washes and cleans windows, doors, glass surfaces, mirrors, window sills, blinds, and walls.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, including toilets, sinks, vanities, showers and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies such as soap, tissue, and paper towels.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchens and break areas; wipes down surfaces and appliances and restocks supplies.
- Empties trash and recycling receptacles; replaces liners; transports waste to designated disposal areas.
- Cleans light fixture lenses and vents as needed. • Sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, programs, and special events.
- Performs or reports minor maintenance repairs and unsafe conditions.
- Maintains custodial storage areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
- Maintains inventory of custodial supplies; tracks usage and requests restocking as needed.
- Operates custodial tools and equipment such as vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, mops, and ladders.
- Follows all Town safety policies, procedures, and regulations; properly uses required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Completes basic work logs, checklists, or reports as required.
- Plunging, snaking, and/or unclogging toilets and urinals
- Assists other Operations or Public Works staff with special projects as assigned.

- Knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, sanitation standards, and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, including carpet and hard-surface maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet established schedules.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory and basic records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Valid Florida driver’s license.
Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and outside of regular office hours.
