Description

Title: DPW Seasonal 2026

Department: Department of Public Works

Nature of work: Work may involve bending, walking, sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, and occasionally moving up to 25 pounds or more. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, including during inclement weather conditions. Employees are recommended to have appropriate outdoor gear and dress accordingly to protect themselves from adverse weather conditions. Employees may stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day.

Work Schedule: Not to exceed 40 hours per week.

Wage: $15.00 - $18.18 per hour

Minimum Age Requirement: 17 years old

The Department of Public Works is seeking seasonal employees to assist with a wide variety of operational, maintenance, and public service activities throughout the department. Work assignments may vary daily depending on departmental needs and priorities as directed by DPW Administration and Supervisors.

Requirements

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Work Schedule not to exceed 40 hours per week.
Performs work in the operation of light and medium equipment which involved general laboring duties, the employee may occasionally operate various pieces of equipment.
Performs general laboring duties (manual labor).
Cutting brush, roadside mowing and any other maintenance related labor.
Performs various duties required for the maintenance of Public Works facilities and equipment.
Various job responsibilities and duties as assigned by DPW Supervisors.

Summary

This position may provide opportunities to work alongside multiple divisions within the Department of Public Works and gain experience in a variety of municipal operations and public service functions.

This is seasonal employment, there is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the season you are hired.
