Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Tour Facilitator/ Storyteller based in Panaji. There is potential for the role upgrading to full-time based on performance should the candidate wants to opt for the same.
The Tour Facilitator/ Storyteller will be responsible for organising and leading tours, engaging with travellers to share in-depth knowledge of destinations, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all participants. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating logistics, providing personalised support to guests, sharing cultural and historical insights during tours, and managing smooth execution of itineraries. The role requires flexibility, a passion for storytelling, and exceptional communication skills to enhance the experiential element of each tour.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and logistics coordination skills to manage tour schedules and on-site operations
- Exceptional communication and public speaking skills for engaging storytelling and cultural interpretation
- Proficiency in English language skills mandatory. Konkani language fluency is a huge plus.
- An in-depth understanding of local culture, heritage, and history, with a passion for sharing these aspects with others
- Proactive problem-solving and time-management skills for addressing challenges and ensuring seamless tour delivery
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to create meaningful connections and deliver outstanding guest experiences
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle dynamic situations effectively during tours
- Proficiency in languages, including English and local languages, is an advantage
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or event planning is a plus
- Background or education in history, cultural studies, or related fields is highly beneficial
Salary
Rs. 10,000/- per month (4 hours/ day, 6 days/ week)
NOTE:
The candidate MUST be in or around Panaji, Goa. Or, must be ok with commuting to Panaji. They should have their own vehicle or should be able to arrange one on their own with a valid driver's license for local/ on-site commute.
