Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer – Remote (US Candidates)
We’re looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer for a full-time contract role. This is a 100% remote position with flexibility to collaborate across Central Time (CT) hours.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain robust web applications using Ruby on Rails for backend development and modern frontend technologies.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.
- Apply best practices in architecture, testing, and performance tuning.
- Manage and optimize data models using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints to integrate services.
- Stay up to date with the Rails ecosystem, including Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus, and modern Rails patterns.
- Write maintainable, secure, and scalable code with a focus on developer happiness and performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience building Full Stack applications with Ruby on Rails (6 or 7+).
- Proficiency in JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Stimulus, Vue.js, or similar).
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and exposure to NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
- Experience integrating and building RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
- Comfortable using Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Familiarity with Docker and/or deployment tools like Heroku, Render, or Kubernetes.
- Clean, test-driven code using RSpec, Minitest, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Agile development workflows (Scrum, Kanban).
- Bonus: Experience with background jobs (Sidekiq), CI/CD pipelines, WebSockets (Action Cable), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
