Senior AWS Cloud Architect

Fully Remote Contract $90-95hr Must Have Large Enterprise Experience We are seeking a Senior AWS Architect with a strong enterprise IT background to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud solutions. This role requires deep expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture best practices, and enterprise infrastructure modernization. The ideal candidate will lead cloud strategy, migration initiatives, automation, and security governance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud architectures for enterprise applications. Lead cloud migration strategies, including application re-architecting, re-platforming, and optimization. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK. Ensure AWS security best practices, compliance, and governance, integrating IAM, security policies, and monitoring tools. Optimize cost, performance, and scalability through well-architected framework principles. Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS). Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practice guidance to engineering teams. Evaluate new AWS technologies and services to enhance enterprise cloud strategy. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on AWS. Expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, etc.). Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, multi-account AWS environments, and networking (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway). Strong knowledge of enterprise security, compliance (SOC2, ISO 27001), and cloud governance. Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation). Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, serverless computing, and container orchestration. AWS Solutions Architect Professional or other relevant AWS certifications preferred.
