Role: Technical Associate – Tooling & Manufacturing Engineering
Location: Oragadam, Chennai
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Tooling Engineer to support production by ensuring the availability of fixtures, tooling, and quality equipment. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and improving OEE in Valve Body and Carrier production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Tooling management – maintenance, procurement & inventory
- Handle HMC, VMC, Broaching, Power Skiving & Grinding machines
- Troubleshooting tooling issues & process improvements
- Cutting tool resharpening & lifecycle management
- Work with Zoller presetter & tool storage systems
- Vendor coordination & on-time tool delivery
- Conduct trials & prepare reports
- Track tooling KPIs – cost, breakage, savings
- Ensure safety, TPM & 5S adherence
- Implement Poka-Yoke & continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in tooling / CNC machining
- Strong CNC tooling & troubleshooting knowledge
- Exposure to TPM & continuous improvement projects
- Skills: AutoCAD, MS Office, CNC tooling
