Role Description The Toolroom Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the toolroom, including planning, organizing, and controlling tooling activities to support production and maintenance. This full-time hybrid role is based in Jaipur, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility, depending on operational requirements. Key responsibilities include managing tool inventory, coordinating tool design and fabrication, ensuring timely repair and preventive maintenance of tools, and maintaining quality standards and safety procedures. The Toolroom Manager will collaborate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve tooling issues, optimize tool performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves supervising toolroom personnel, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Strong background in toolroom management, including tool planning, scheduling, and coordination of tool fabrication and maintenance.
- Experience with machining processes, tooling materials, and equipment such as CNC machines, grinders, and conventional machine tools.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, using measurement instruments, and applying quality control practices in tooling operations.
- Ability to lead and supervise a team, delegate work effectively, and promote a safe and organized work environment.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on root-cause analysis and process improvement.
- Relevant technical qualification, such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related field.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machinery sectors; exposure to irrigation systems or related equipment is an advantage.
- Comfort with basic computer applications for documentation, inventory management, and reporting.
