Role Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven Freelance Growth Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our marketing team.
You’ll collaborate closely with marketing to create and execute a phased rollout strategy for our new AI-based product for SMBs and freelancers — from managing the waitlist through full-scale launch and beyond.
You’re naturally curious, eager to experiment, and love exploring unconventional channels to attract users. You’re comfortable designing full-circle experiments tailored to various user personas and touchpoints, seeing them through from initial concept to actionable results—all while maintaining a sharp eye on project economics.
Your decisions are data-driven, you understand behavioral triggers and know how to implement lifecycle communications to boost user activation and engagement.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with product managers, product marketing, and performance teams, identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve conversions and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Growth Strategy Development: Design, implement, and scale growth strategies across the entire user journey, leveraging all organic channels like content marketing, social media, community-building, and referral programs to maximize sustainable user acquisition and retention.
- Organic Channel Growth: Focus on growth through organic acquisition channels, including SEO, content marketing, influencer partnerships, viral loops, and community engagement. Drive content strategies that build brand awareness and attract high-value, long-term users.
- User Lifecycle Optimization: Drive the creation and optimization of targeted campaigns across the user lifecycle, from acquisition and onboarding to retention and re-engagement, ensuring consistent and long-term growth through organic channels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product, product marketing, and engineering teams to align growth initiatives with product development, ensuring that organic growth channels align with the product’s key features, user experience, and long-term strategy.
- Marketing Analytics & Reporting: Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of organic growth campaigns. Track and analyze user behavior, marketing performance, and key metrics to continuously improve strategies. Use data to create insights that will inform decisions for future growth tactics.
- Content Creation: Oversee content creation strategies (blog posts, articles, webinars, social media posts) to ensure maximum visibility on search engines and social media platforms. Focus on content that drives organic traffic and educates users on how to get the most value from the product.
- Lifecycle Communications & Automation: Implement lifecycle marketing strategies that include automated email, push, and SMS communications to drive engagement and product adoption. Optimize these channels to improve user retention and reduce churn.
- Partnerships & Collaborations: Build relationships with key influencers, thought leaders, and partners to organically amplify the product’s reach and credibility across various online communities and platforms.
- Customer Feedback & Insights: Gather and analyze customer feedback through organic channels like surveys, community forums, and reviews to inform product development and marketing strategies. Use this feedback to improve messaging, product features, and user experience.
Requirements
- Experience in growth and lifecycle marketing for PLG products with proven metrics in both acquisition and activation
- Demonstrated success in improving both top-of-funnel conversion (20%+ rates) and product activation metrics (50%+ completion of key actions)
- Strong expertise in scaling products using organic growth strategies, such as: social media viral mechanics, referral programs, content-driven acquisition.
- Strong marketing technology first-hand implementation experience (Iterable, Braze or similar platforms)
- Experience with phased product launches and waitlist conversion optimization
- Expertise in creating engaging onboarding flows that drive key activation behaviors
- Data-driven experimentation methodology across all funnel stages
- Strong analytics skills to measure impact across the entire customer journey
