The Toledo Clinic's Rheumatology Department, Arthritis Associates of NW Ohio, is seeking a Registered Nurse to work on a CONTINENT basis. This position will be scheduled as needed to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 7:00am & 5:00pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays! This position will schedule and prepare patients for infusion treatments and administer medication.
General Summary:
Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patients for physicians(s), educates patients, and provides general patient care
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
- Schedule patients for infusions per physician orders.
- Prepare patient for infusion, take vitals initially & periodically during infusion while monitoring patient.
- Administer infusion medications.
- Educates the patient on procedures, medications, etc.
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient symptoms, any possible reaction, dosing, etc.
- Answers and returns calls regarding patient care that doesn’t require physician input.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Complete and ensure accuracy of patient charts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Previous experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education:
-Bachelors degree in Nursing with prior infusion experience.
-Current RN license.
