Alt-Text Writer - Sciences / Humanities (Freelance, remote)

We are looking for freelance alt-text writers based in India to join our team. In this remote role, you will work on books and journals in the sciences or humanities, including technical and scientific research, medical and health sciences, and humanities and social sciences. What will you do? Create unique alt-text content based on changing requirements. Adhere to web accessibility guidelines and publisher specifications (such as US/UK spellings, word limit, etc.). Ensure consistency. Adequately describe all aspects of the images provided. Essential job requirements Proficiency in English. A minimum of 2 years of experience with writing alt-text, particularly in the fields of medical/health sciences, scientific/technical content, and humanities/social sciences. Thorough knowledge of guidelines. A strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Educated to a minimum of a Bachelor's degree level in sciences/humanities.
