We are looking for an experienced TNEB Domain Expert to support utility modernization initiatives and provide business consulting expertise for power sector projects.
Role Summary
The TNEB Domain Expert will serve as the functional SME for projects involving Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation (TANTRANSCO), and related power utility organizations. The role requires deep understanding of electricity distribution operations, utility business processes, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the domain expert for TNEB/TANGEDCO business processes and utility operations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements.
- Provide consulting support for digital transformation, modernization, and smart utility initiatives.
- Advise project teams on electricity distribution, transmission, billing, customer service, asset management, and field operations.
- Support solution design, functional specifications, user stories, and business process improvements.
- Work closely with technology teams to ensure solutions align with utility business requirements.
- Participate in RFP responses, solution presentations, workshops, and customer discussions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business validation, and change management activities.
- Ensure compliance with TANGEDCO procedures, Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) guidelines, and applicable utility regulations.
- Provide domain expertise for AI, Analytics, GIS, SCADA, Smart Metering, and Utility ERP initiatives.

Experience
- 10–20+ years of experience in the Power & Utilities sector.
- Experience working with TNEB, TANGEDCO, TANTRANSCO, or utility system integrators is highly preferred.
- Strong functional consulting experience in utility transformation programs.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Former TNEB/TANGEDCO employee or consultant.
- Experience working with utility IT transformation projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in requirement gathering and business consulting.
- Ability to work with both business and technology teams.
- Experience in proposal development and pre-sales is an advantage.
