General Summary Duties: The job of the Corporation Secretary to the Transportation Department is done for the purpose of providing complex and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Director to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the department while maintaining the district’s compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations with respect to department practices.
Essential Functions:

Serve as the primary contact for incoming calls, emails, and visitors to the Transportation Office.

Assist with routing updates and communicate changes to drivers and families.

Prepare and distribute transportation-related documents, notices, and reports.

Maintain drivers files, including licenses, certifications, and required documentation.

Assist with compliance tracking for state and federal transportation regulations.

Input and update data in transportation software systems.

Process work orders for the Fleet Manager.

Provide general office support to the Transportation Director and staff.
Non-Essential Functions: While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.

Entry-Level Requirements:
1. Education/Training: High school diploma required. Preference given to individuals with post-secondary education or demonstrated knowledge of school finance.
2. Experience: Job-related experience with knowledge of school finance preferred.
3. Certifications &/or Licenses: IASBO certification preferred.
4. Other: Ability to perform the essential functions, meet the performance aptitudes, and fulfill the physical/sensory/environmental requirements of the job (with or without reasonable accommodations) is required.

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
Sensory Requirements:
Sensory demands include the use of the computer, which may cause eyestrain and occasional headaches. The office may be busy making it difficult for concentration.
Environmental Factors:
The Secretary may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of employees, vendors, and other external
agencies. The Secretary may find the environment to be busy and will need excellent organization and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
