Position Summary

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site coordination, execution, and supervision of all construction activities. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and applicable codes. The Superintendent serves as the primary field representative of the company and works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.

This role supports potential contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily construction operations and site activities from mobilization through project closeout. 
  • Coordinate and supervise all field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. 
  • Maintain a constant on-site presence to ensure productivity, safety, and quality. 
  • Develop and enforce site logistics plans, including material staging, site access, and equipment usage. 
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules in coordination with the Project Manager. 
  • Ensure all subcontractors adhere to project timelines and sequencing. 
  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions proactively. 
  • Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and trades. 
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure adherence to quality standards. 
  • Manage punch lists and oversee completion of corrective work. 
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors, testing agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). 
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on-site. 
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspections. 
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment. 
  • Ensure all subcontractors comply with site-specific safety requirements. 
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure efficient workflow. 
  • Review subcontractor scopes of work and ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
  • Resolve conflicts between trades and maintain jobsite harmony. 
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity. 
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, including manpower, work completed, weather conditions, and issues. 
  • Document and report any field changes, RFIs (Requests for Information), and potential change orders. 
  • Track deliveries, inspections, and project milestones. 
  • Maintain updated as-built drawings and project documentation. 
  • Assist the Project Manager in tracking job costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Monitor labor and material usage to ensure efficiency. 
  • Report potential budget overruns and recommend solutions. 
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and inspectors. 
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and address concerns promptly. 
  • Maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders. 
  • Oversee final inspections and ensure all work is completed per contract requirements. 
  • Manage punch list completion and project turnover. 
  • Ensure proper documentation, warranties, and closeout packages are submitted. 
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum [10] years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial construction. 
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes (Texas experience preferred). 
  • Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex projects. 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. 
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project). 
  • OSHA 30 certification 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with federal, municipal, or institutional projects (if applicable to your work). 
  • Familiarity with MEP coordination, lab buildouts, or specialized facilities (based on your recent projects). 
  • Experience working in border-region logistics and permitting (relevant to El Paso projects). 
 

Work Environment: 

  • Primarily field-based position requiring travel to job sites in and around El Paso, Texas. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
