Role Description
This is a remote, contract-based position for a Third Officer. The role involves assisting in navigational watchkeeping, maintaining safety and firefighting equipment, and ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations. The Third Officer will also oversee the safe loading and unloading of cargo, assist in lifeboat drills, and ensure proper maintenance of navigational equipment onboard. Collaboration with senior officers and crew members is integral to ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in navigation, route planning, and watchkeeping operations
- Knowledge of safety regulations, firefighting equipment, and emergency procedures
- Experience in cargo operations, including loading and unloading supervision
- Strong administrative and record-keeping skills for documentation and compliance reporting
- Effective team collaboration and communication skills
- STCW Certification, including completion of relevant safety and technical training
- Proven experience in a similar maritime role is advantageous
- Proficiency in English for effective communication
