Job Title: Thermal Simulation Engineer
Function: Ansys, Icepak
Report to: Sr. Lead Engineer
Location: Pune, India
Position Specific Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced Thermal Simulation Engineer with a strong Electrical/Electronics background to support the design, simulation, and optimization of electrification products. The role focuses on advanced thermal and fluid-dynamics simulations of high-voltage (HV) systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed thermal simulations using Ansys ICEPAK for electrification products.
- Develop and validate thermal models for high-voltage components such as BDUs, PDUs, contactors, and pyro-fuses.
- Conduct Joule heating analysis and identify thermal risks and failure modes.
- Configure and simulate complex transient electrical and thermal load profiles.
- Execute fluid-dynamics simulations including pressure drop analysis of cooling circuits.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and system engineers to ensure design robustness.
- Support troubleshooting activities through simulation-driven root cause analysis.
- Document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly and professionally.
Required Technical Skills
- Thermal simulation expertise with an Electrical/Electronic engineering background.
- Strong proficiency in Ansys ICEPAK.
- In-depth knowledge of electrification products and HV topologies (BDUs, PDUs).
- Experience in modeling HV components such as contactors and pyro-fuses.
- Hands-on experience with Joule heating analysis and thermal troubleshooting.
- Ability to configure and analyze complex transient load profiles.
- Experience with CFD and fluid-dynamics simulations, including cooling circuit pressure drop analysis.
- Proven experience in BCM and Electronic Power Distribution Units analysis
- Expertise on detailed board and components level analysis.
Experience: 6 to 8 Years
Qualification: B.E Electronics/ Mechanical
