Position Summary
The Physical & Digital Merchandiser is responsible for creating a cohesive and compelling brand experience across both in-store and online channels. This role bridges retail execution and digital merchandising strategy to ensure product storytelling, visual presentation, and customer engagement are consistent, elevated, and aligned with Whitaker Group’s brand standards.
This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with retail teams, e-commerce, marketing, and creative to optimize product visibility, drive sales, and enhance the overall customer journey.
Key Responsibilities
Physical Merchandising
- Execute and maintain in-store visual merchandising standards across all Whitaker Group retail locations
- Design and implement product displays, seasonal layouts, and promotional setups
- Ensure consistency in brand presentation, signage, and storytelling across stores
- Partner with store leadership to optimize floor sets and product placement based on sales trends
- Conduct regular store visits or audits to ensure merchandising standards are upheld
- Train store teams on visual merchandising guidelines and best practices
Digital Merchandising
- Manage product assortment, categorization, and placement on e-commerce platforms
- Optimize product pages with compelling visuals, descriptions, and merchandising strategies
- Collaborate with digital and creative teams to execute homepage updates, campaigns, and launches
- Analyze online customer behavior, sales performance, and conversion metrics to inform merchandising decisions
- Ensure consistency between in-store and online product storytelling and launches
- Support digital campaigns, product drops, and promotional strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with buying, marketing, and creative teams to align merchandising strategies
- Support new product launches and ensure seamless execution across all channels
- Align inventory flow with merchandising plans to maximize sell-through
- Contribute to overall brand strategy through innovative merchandising concepts
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in retail merchandising, visual merchandising, or digital merchandising
- Strong understanding of both physical retail environments and e-commerce platforms
- Experience with merchandising tools (e.g., Shopify, Magento, or similar platforms) preferred
- Strong visual eye with attention to detail and brand consistency
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and performance data
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
