About the role

The US Nature Initiative is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Campaigns to lead our efforts in protecting and preserving nature across the United States. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successful campaign leadership and a deep understanding of advocacy and communications work at local, regional and national level. Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive campaign strategies to advance the goals of the US Nature Initiative. Manage campaign and coalition tables with partners and grantees. Lead and manage a team of campaign staff and consultants, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including partner organizations, community leaders, and local, regional, tribal, and national elected officials from both sides of the aisle. Oversee budget management, reporting, and evaluation of campaign activities and make suggestions to the Executive Director on grantmaking and programmatic spending. Represent the US Nature Initiative at meetings, conferences, and other events in the field. Stay informed about relevant policy developments and emerging issues related to nature conservation. Oversee strategic grantmaking that aligns with campaign strategies. Qualifications: Must be a self starter that is self-motivated and directed and comfortable leading campaigns, while also participating in a highly collaborative startup environment. Deep experience in field organizing and grassroots/grasstops mobilization, digital and traditional communications tools and campaign planning. Proven ability to integrate communications, lobbying, and field organizing tactics under a well defined strategy. Proven experience in leading and managing successful campaigns. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds including but not limited to political affiliation. Experience working with both sides of the aisle and building bipartisan support for conservation initiatives. Established relationships with individuals and organizations in the conservation space, relevant elected officials and their staff, and existing professional networks at the regional and state level preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
