DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste & Recycling
JOB SUMMARY: The Technician I will work under the supervision of the Solid Waste & Recycling Coordinator. Performing routine manual work in the collection of solid waste, yard waste, bulky items, recycling items, clean-up of illegal dump sites and environmental clean-up. Drives and operates refuse trucks through residential areas. Employees are expected to walk extended distances in collection of solid waste and recyclables. This position is responsible for the pick-up of trash from homes and businesses within the boundaries of the reservation. Loads trucks with refuse items and helps dispose of all items.
COMPENSATION: $21.43 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Six (6) months of experience working with various heavy/light equipment and trucks preferred
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
- WA State Driver’s License
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulation. (Abstract Required)
- WA State Class A or B Commercial Driver License *Will allow one (1) year to obtain
- Must complete an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular full-time position.
