About the role

It's knowing your expertise is paving the way forward. It's working as one to deliver impressive results. And it's providing the insight that will help shape our future. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional. Whether it's maintaining our historic buildings, delivering events and ceremonies that celebrate individuals and the many facets of our society, or helping the public engage with the Royal Collection, the breadth of activity across the Royal Household presents truly fascinating — and often unique — procurement challenges. As a Procurement Lead, you'll plan and manage a varied portfolio of procurements for goods, services, and projects across the organisation. You'll play a key role in delivering value, sustainability, and compliance, while supporting some of our most high-profile areas of work. You'll provide expert procurement guidance across a wide range of categories, with a particular focus on our largest areas of spend: Property Maintenance, Digital Services, and the Royal Collection Trust (including exhibitions, galleries, and conservation). You'll manage end-to-end procurement governance, from drafting tender documents and evaluation criteria to supporting contract award and agreement. Working closely with Finance, you'll help departments plan and prioritise procurement activity, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. You'll maintain and monitor our Contract Database, ensuring due diligence, reviews, and renewals are built into the procurement pipeline. As a key point of contact between internal clients, procurement colleagues, and suppliers, you'll keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the procurement process. You'll ensure financial control, compliance, and risk management are embedded in every procurement, driving efficiency, quality, and value. You'll also champion our procurement policy and best practice across the organisation, with a focus on continuous improvement. You'll also play a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023, ensuring that all procurement activity aligns with the new principles of transparency, value for money, public benefit, and integrity. Across your portfolio, you'll help ensure our procurement activity is responsible, sustainable, and aligned with our values. The sheer range of procurements will stretch you, but you'll rise to the challenge of delivering effective support across the organisation.
