<strong>About PPA: </strong>The Player Progression Academy is a multi-sport youth academy serving the NW DC/Bethesda corridor. Our <strong>Plus division</strong> spans <strong>Tots</strong> (ages 2–5) and <strong>Afterschool</strong> <strong>soccer and basketball programs</strong> - bringing structured, coach-led youth sports to kids at their earliest introduction to the game. With an expansive community of over 3000 players, a dedicated team of over 100 coaches, and an office staff of 20 individuals, PPA is committed to fostering player development both inside and outside of the lines. </div><div>
<strong><br>The Role:</strong> We're looking for a hands-on, self-directed Deputy Director to help run and grow our Plus programs. This is a hybrid role: you'll spend meaningful time on the field coaching, and the rest driving program operations, logistics, and development from behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for youth sports and coaching, who is also eager to build a career in business development, strategy, and program management. <br><br>
</div><div><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></div><div><strong><em>On the Field</em></strong></div><ul>
<li>Coach Afterschool soccer and/or basketball clinics (minimum 5 hrs/week, Mon–Fri)</li>
<li>Coach Tots (ages 2–5) soccer and/or basketball (minimum 8 hrs/week, weekends) </li>
</ul><div><strong><em>Off the Field</em></strong></div><ul>
<li>Help design, build, and refine programming for Afterschool and Tots</li>
<li>Support program operations end-to-end — scheduling, logistics, participant experience</li>
<li>Contribute to business development: identifying growth opportunities, supporting strategic planning</li>
<li>Create marketing materials using Canva or similar tools</li>
</ul><div><strong>What We're Looking For:</strong></div><ul>
<li>Passion for youth sports, coaching, and sports program development</li>
<li>Prior coaching experience required (either soccer or basketball, preferably both)</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, budgeting and planning</li>
<li>Familiarity with AI tools for productivity, research, and content creation</li>
<li>Experience with Canva or other design platforms for marketing materials</li>
<li>Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Interest in business development, strategy, and program management</li>
<li>Must be able to independently identify needs, prioritize opportunities, and follow through with high degree of autonomy</li>

<strong>Work Schedule & Location:<br></strong><br>

<li>Must be open to coaching on weekends</li>

<li>Remote first administrative work w/ in person requirement for coaching and occasional meetings in office</li>
<li>Office located in Bethesda, MD</li>

</ul><div><strong>Compensation:</strong></div><div>Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 based on experience. Bonus opportunity. </div><div>
<em>*Opportunity to earn additional income by picking up coaching within PPA's Development Programs, Premier Programs, or summer camps<br></em><br>
