Role Overview

This is a growth leadership role within a mission-driven consulting organization focused on sustainability and the built environment. The Director of Growth & Partnerships is responsible for driving new business revenue, expanding existing client relationships, and building strategic partnerships that support long-term, values-aligned growth.

The role owns the full revenue lifecycle—from opportunity development and proposal strategy through contract negotiation, closing, renewals, and expansions—while serving as a key connector between external growth efforts and internal delivery teams. This leader works closely with executive leadership, divisional leaders, and delivery teams to ensure growth aligns with capacity, quality, and client outcomes.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role suited for a growth executive who thrives in professional services or consulting environments and values relationship-driven, impact-focused growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and achieve new business revenue targets, including pipeline development, forecasting, deal execution, renewals, and client expansions
  • Lead the full business development lifecycle: prospecting, qualification, solutioning, proposals, pricing, contract negotiation, and closing
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships and alliances that create repeatable, long-term revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with delivery and operations leaders to ensure growth aligns with capacity, margins, and client experience
  • Provide visibility into pipeline health, revenue performance, and growth strategy to executive leadership
  • Represent the organization externally with credibility and executive presence
  • Mentor and support internal team members on client-facing and growth best practices

Why This Role?

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, relationships, and execution. It offers the opportunity to shape how a consulting organization grows—through thoughtful partnerships, meaningful client work, and long-term impact rather than transactional sales.

Requirements
  • 7–10+ years of experience in growth, business development, or account leadership within consulting or professional services
  • Proven track record of owning and exceeding revenue targets and closing complex, non-transactional deals
  • Experience developing and negotiating contracts in collaboration with senior leadership and legal teams
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, ESG, and/or the built environment (architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or related advisory fields)
  • Experience building and managing strategic partnerships or ecosystems
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue modeling
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-growing, evolving organization
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
