About the role

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The Mobile Diesel Service Technician performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair mechanic under minimal supervision. This position is specifically responsible for assisting customers with repairs and diagnosis over the road within the assigned region. Travel will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnostic/mechanical repairs on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Testing when completed to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Travels to customer locations to perform repairs. Provides over-the-road assistance and diagnosis.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies always.
  • Communicate with Service Manager regarding parts that are not available for repairs.
  • Download and save Paccar Solutions/Decisiv: all pictures, engine files (before and after repair), and diagnostic test used to perform repair.
  • Maintain repair order closure rate of under 10 days and 3-day lag.
  • Record in detail, the description of all trouble shooting steps and results of repairs made and any other information about the repair.
  • Save all warrantable parts. Tag, wash, box, and turn into correct location. Labels the box with repair oder number, S/N, customer name and date.
  • Maintain a 85% efficiency and a 90% on productivity.
  • Maintain Peterbilt online training percentage of 95%.
  • Obtain class A or B CDL and retain during employment.
  • Responsible for maintaining company vehicle. Ensures vehicle is stocked with required tools and parts for off-site repairs.
Qualifications:
  • Should possess a High School diploma.
  • A college degree or a certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class A CDL.
  • Motor Vehicle Record must adhere to TLG MVR guidelines.
