We are seeking part-time Teachers of the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility Teachers to join our growing team. Our specialists provide home/community based services to school age children who have visual impairment and blindness. They are responsible for direct services, completing documentation and keeping accurate records of session notes. This part-time position is in one location.
Teacher of the Visually Impaired Requirements
- NYS Licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired or Orientation & Mobility Teacher
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree a related field
- Must be willing to provide services in Brooklyn, NY
- Must be available Monday - Friday
- Experience providing Educational Vision Services
Teacher of the Visually Impaired Responsibilities:
- Provide Educational Vision Services to school age children in the home
- Foster strong relationships with families and create a nurturing learning environment in home settings
- Engage with caregivers to maintain consistent therapeutic schedules
- Maintain weekly, quarterly, and annual paperwork including daily session notes, progress reports and annual review
