About the role

The Policy Adviser role is an opportunity to join our dynamic and fast-paced team working on issues at the top of the political agenda. The King's Fund is a respected independent voice in the health and care sector with a strong reputation for authoritative analysis and a track-record of informing national policy. As health and care services face significant challenges on multiple fronts, we are looking for a Policy Adviser to deliver part of our work programme responding to and influencing key policy developments. It is a varied role. A typical week could include undertaking policy research, monitoring health and care policy developments, delivering presentations and meeting stakeholders, or drafting a briefing, all with the aim of influencing the national policy debate. The successful applicant will be part of The King's Fund's responsive policy function, a dedicated team focused on emerging policy issues. The team works with colleagues from across the organisation and plays a key role working between our Policy and Communications functions to influence the health and care debate. We are seeking candidates with prior professional experience in influencing the development of health and care policy or in a health-related public affairs role, with excellent analytical skills, an ability to articulate complex issues in an accessible form, and good knowledge of the Westminster political system. Candidates should be comfortable with simple data analysis and visualisation. Most importantly, candidates should be excited about working on a broad range of health and social care issues at pace.
