Assistant Manager
The Happy Hive is looking for an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to help lead our team and keep our space safe, welcoming, and buzzing with great energy. Position Details
Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: General Manager / Owner
Employment Type: Part-Time, 25-30 hours per week
Compensation: $22 to $24 per hour, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
Facility Safety & Cleanliness
• Supervise staff in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Manage maintenance of equipment
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and facility regulations
Birthday Party Supervision
• Oversee the planning and execution of birthday party events from setup through cleanup
• Coordinate with families in advance to confirm party details, special requests, and scheduling
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during events quickly and professionally
Social Media & Marketing Collaboration
• Collaborate with management on social media content creation, including photo and video capture during events and daily operations
• Assist with scheduling and posting content across social platforms as needed
• Respond to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and brand-appropriate manner
Team Leadership & General Operations
• Assist in onboarding, training, and day-to-day supervision of front-line staff
• Serve as a point of contact for staff questions, scheduling conflicts, and operational issues
• Open and/or close the facility as needed, following all established procedures
• Handle customer concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and care
• Support the General Manager with administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred
• Experience working with children who have special needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) and basic content creation
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed
