Background The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance the quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the health and well-being of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities, and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East, and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs. Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through the direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Hans Vriksh Education Project team. This role will provide critical support to the SPM in implementing and monitoring Hans Vriksh Education program across multiple regions in India. The focus will be on enhancing life skills education and career guidance for students in Grades 6–12, ensuring the project's objectives align with empowering youth and improving educational outcomes. Key Responsibilities Project Implementation Support Assist in the rollout of the Hans Vriksh Education Project across designated regions, coordinating with regional teams, schools, and government stakeholders. Support the deployment of life skills education programs and career guidance sessions for students in Grades 6–10 and 12, ensuring alignment with project goals. Collaborate with project managers, project coordinators and Life Skills mentors and Career Counsellors to facilitate smooth execution of activities, including workshops, training sessions, and community engagement events. Support in designing and finalising the content for Life Skills Education and career guidance. Support in liaison and networking with likeminded organisation to strengthen LSE and career guidance components. Support in designing and organising the consultation workshops on various educational topics. Liaison and networking with the government to explore the possibilities for technical partnerships for life skills education and career guidance.. 1. Monitoring and Progress Tracking Regularly monitor the progress of life skills education and career guidance components, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget. Conduct field visits to different regions and project locations to assess implementation quality, identify challenges, and recommend improvements. Track key performance indicators (e.g., student participation, session outcomes, skill development metrics) and compile data for progress reports. 2. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement Act as a liaison between the Project Manager, regional teams, school authorities, and government officials to ensure seamless communication and collaboration. Support the team for Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), School Management Committee (SMC) engagements, and career guidance events to strengthen community involvement. 3. Documentation and Reporting Prepare and compile Quarterly Progress Reports data, highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps for life skills and career guidance components. Document success stories, case studies, and best practices to demonstrate the project's influence on students and communities. Maintain accurate records of project activities, budgets, and resources allocated to life skills and career guidance initiatives. 4. Team Support and Capacity Building Provide on-the-job guidance to Life Skills Education Mentors and regional staff, fostering a cohesive and motivated team. Assist in organizing planning and review meetings to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives. Manage field team attendance, leave records, and logistical needs related to project implementation. 5. Administrative and Operational Duties Assist in budget tracking and expense monitoring for life skills and career guidance activities, ensuring compliance with financial plans. Support the procurement of resources (e.g., training materials, career guidance tools) and coordinate logistics for regional activities. Participate in regional and state-level meetings, workshops, and trainings as required. Qualifications and Skills. · Education: Master's degree in education, Social Sciences, MSW, or a related field Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project coordination, education programs, or youth development initiatives. Prior work in life skills education or career guidance is highly desirable. Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage projects across multiple regions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., MS Excel, Google Sheets). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Cultural sensitivity and understanding education systems. Assertive, confident, and proactive approach to problem-solving and team support. Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across different regions for monitoring and implementation support. Language: Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
