WHAT DOES A REGISTERED LINE TECHNICIAN DO?
As a Registered Line Technician Intern at The Emerge Center and School for Autism, you will have the crucial role of working closely with clients under the supervision of a licensed professional in our Applied Behavior Analysis department. Your responsibilities will involve delivering top-notch therapeutic services to address a range of developmental delays, including communication, behavioral, social, and self-help skills. Under the guidance of your supervisor, you will play a vital part in implementing effective interventions that promote growth and progress in individuals with autism.

To excel in the role of a Registered Line Technician Intern at The Emerge Center and School for Autism, candidates must possess a diverse set of skills and competencies. Successful applicants will have the ability to provide direct client care in both 1:1 and group settings, implementing treatment plans developed by Licensed Behavior Analysts. It is essential to follow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols diligently, along with toileting and self-help skills protocols.
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in data collection and reporting, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and promptly. Strong communication skills are paramount, both in interactions with clients and their families, as well as in collaborating with colleagues and supervisors. Attention to detail, professionalism, adherence to ethical standards, and a commitment to ongoing learning and development are key attributes for prospective candidates.
The knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings following the treatment plan developed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Follow the prescribed skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Follow the prescribed toileting and self-help skills protocols such as dressing and tooth brushing
- Collect, record, and summarize data on client behavior as communicated by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Accurately complete all therapeutic supervision and billing documentation within 24 hours of service completion
- Interact with staff, parents, and clients respectfully and professionally
- Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Assist with parent and caregiver training as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Assist with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments as instructed by the Licensed Behavior Analyst
- Assist with the preparation of client materials as instructed
- Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients
- Support and supervise clients during leisure activities specifically during lunch and playtime
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws
- Abide by the code of ethics as published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by sanitizing toys, work surfaces, and seats as necessary
- Maintain a professional appearance concerning clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up
- Acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required training
- Accept constructive feedback and develop skill sets accordingly
- Actively participate in supervision sessions with a supervisor including individual, small group, and large group settings
- Attend all required staff meetings and provide other tasks as assigned by the Licensed Behavior Analyst, Director of ABA Services, or Clinic Director.
