<div>The SEL & Math Specialist is a push-in instructional specialist responsible for delivering high-quality Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mathematics curriculum to children across all classrooms — Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Pre-K Students. This role serves as a critical bridge between classroom instruction and whole-child development, using data-driven practices to support student growth in alignment with Cloud Early Pathways™. The SEL & Math Specialist plans and delivers developmentally appropriate lessons, coordinates with Lead Teachers, maintains detailed documentation, and collaborates closely with the Educational Director to ensure all children receive consistent, high-quality SEL and mathematics support.<br><strong><br>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>
</div><div><strong>1. Curriculum & Instruction</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Deliver SEL lessons using Second Step and ED-provided curriculum across all assigned classrooms.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Deliver Math activities using Teaching Strategies GOLD and ED-provided curriculum across all assigned classrooms.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Plan all lessons during the embedded 1-hour Planning Block (9:30–10:30 AM) each day.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Post all lesson activities and materials on Playground App a minimum of one week in advance.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Ensure lessons are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with Cloud Early Pathways™ and program goals.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Maintain consistent lesson pacing — all push-in sessions are 15–20 minutes in duration.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Coordinate lesson timing and delivery with classroom Lead Teachers to support (not disrupt) existing routines.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>2. Data, Assessment & Reporting</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Observe and document individual student progress during all push-in sessions.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Enter assessment data and observational notes into the Playground App on a regular, ongoing basis.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Compile and submit student data reports to the Educational Director as requested.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Use data to inform lesson planning and identify students needing additional support or intervention.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Participate in data review meetings with the Educational Director as scheduled.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>3. Playground App & Documentation</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Post all planned activities, lessons, and student updates on the Playground App minimum one week prior to delivery.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Maintain up-to-date records of lessons delivered, student observations, and intervention notes.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Ensure all Playground App documentation is clear, professional, and family-facing ready.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>4. Classroom Coverage </strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Cover classrooms daily </div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Supervise Family Style Eating; model table manners and positive mealtime conversation.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Lead and actively supervise outdoor play; ensure child safety at all times.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>5. Operations & Supplies</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Identify and report supply needs to the Operations team.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>All supply requests must receive Educational Director approval prior to submission to Operations.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Maintain an organized inventory of curriculum materials and manipulatives.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>6. Health, Safety & OCFS Compliance</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times when providing classroom coverage.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Actively supervise children indoors and outdoors; never leave children unattended.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and safety procedures.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Report incidents and safety concerns promptly to the Educational Director.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>7. Family Engagement & Communication</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Post lesson activities and student highlights on the Playground App for family visibility.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Communicate professionally and responsively with families as needed.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Support a culturally responsive, inclusive environment that honors all families.<br><br>
</div><div><strong>8. Professional Responsibilities</strong></div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Arrive on time and fully prepared for all scheduled sessions.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Communicate proactively and professionally with the Educational Director and Lead Teachers.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Maintain confidentiality of all student and family information at all times.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.</div><div>
<strong>• </strong>Model positive, nurturing, trauma-informed interactions with children at all times.</div><div>
