About the role

5&2 Studios connects people around the world to stories from the Bible through uniquely human and authentic storytelling. Founded by Dallas Jenkins following the global success of The Chosen, 5&2 has expanded into producing both scripted and unscripted series, an animated series, and an expansive library of digital content. The independent studio also manages its own distribution, marketing, studio facilities, and consumer product line.

As Publicity Coordinator, you’ll be an essential player in the day-to-day execution of press initiatives across all of 5&2’s projects—supporting press events, managing logistics, building strong media relationships, and helping ensure that our stories reach the right audiences with excellence and heart. From red carpets to press kits, you’ll help bring campaigns to life that reflect the mission and voice of The Chosen and beyond.

This role reports to Sr. Manager, Social Publicity and Talent Relations and will be remote with travel required.

This Might Be the Job for You If…

  • You love details, deadlines, and the thrill of a well-run event—and you know how to stay calm when things don’t go according to plan.
  • You’re a strong communicator, a natural organizer, and you find joy in helping a team run smoothly behind the scenes.
  • You know how to build and maintain professional relationships—whether it’s with journalists, talent reps, or internal teammates.
  • You can write a clean, compelling press release and pivot just as easily to pulling a quick coverage report or confirming travel plans.
  • You’re passionate about storytelling, love the entertainment industry, and are excited to use your gifts to share meaningful stories with the world.

Key Responsibilities:

Publicity Campaign Execution

  • Support the Senior Manager and VP of Publicity in developing and executing strategic press campaigns for all studio projects.
  • Help coordinate and staff press events, premieres, screenings, interviews, junkets, and red carpet moments.
  • Draft and distribute press materials including releases, advisories, bios, and talking points that reflect our tone and mission.
  • Track and monitor media coverage and share timely updates and insights with internal teams.

Media Relations & Logistics

  • Maintain and update media contact lists to ensure accuracy and reach.
  • Coordinate with external PR agencies, vendors, and talent reps to execute campaign deliverables with excellence.
  • Serve as a point of contact for media and talent at press events, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
  • Assist in managing day-to-day communications with key journalists and outlets.

Administrative & Campaign Support

  • Assist in the organization and distribution of press kits and approved assets.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for talent, executives, and press attending events.
  • Manage calendars, meeting scheduling, and correspondence for the Senior Manager and VP.
  • Help prepare reports, media analysis, and performance tracking following campaigns and events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support social media efforts that align with publicity campaigns, ensuring consistency across channels.
  • Work closely with marketing, creative, and digital teams to ensure integrated messaging and strategic alignment.
  • Help manage the yearly publicity budget and maintain budget tracking for projects and events.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in publicity or PR, ideally within the entertainment industry at a studio, network, or agency.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with grace and good humor.
  • Comfortable working with high-profile talent, media reps, and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends during events or busy campaign moments.
  • A heart for the mission of The Chosen and a desire to use your skills to help share stories that matter.

Chosen Brand Values:

  • Authenticity: We speak honestly, we’re straightforward and real. Our marketing should never sound market-y. We don’t make promises we can’t keep or cut corners that sacrifice our vision. If a problem arises, we own up to it quickly and truthfully. We stay true to who we are, even if it means losing viewers in the process.

  • Intimate: we engage with our audience in a one-on-one conversation. Picture a person in your mind – they're sitting across from you, sinking into a comfy leather chair. All you're doing is having a conversation (even in headlines) with this one person. We speak directly and personally.

  • Disruptive: we are not bound by tradition; we are telling an old story in a new way. From our content and storytelling to our approach to fundraising and free streaming, The Chosen drips disruptiveness. We are forward-thinking - if there's a new way to do something, we'll give it a shot. Contrarian, but kind. We always keep one foot outside of our comfort zones and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo.

  • Playful: Sometimes you gotta stir up the water. “Playful” means that we don’t take ourselves too seriously. The Chosen tells the story of Jesus and His disciples the way they were – human, with all of the quirks and personality that comes with it. Our humor is witty and relatable with just the right amount of snark. We are cheeky and warm, not vulgar or disrespectful.
