About the role

At Cashroom, our mission is to free lawyers from the complexities of Legal Accounting. Law firms have the challenge of managing their clients' money and also the firm's money. Their procedures for doing so are regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) in England and Law Society of Scotland in Scotland and there are significant consequences on the law firms if the regulations are not applied correctly - that's where we come in. Cashroom is an outsourced legal accounting and bookkeeping firm and we provide an expert service, managing these monies on behalf of law firms in accordance with the published regulations. Our technology helps lawyers and cashiers collaborate to manage these funds in a secure, efficient and compliant manner. In recent years, we have built API integrations with multiple legal practice management systems, as well as the banking network through OpenBanking and Confirmation of Payee. We continue to experience significant business growth with our body of clients growing month on month and we want you to help us enable that growth in terms of identifying and delivering business efficiencies, and creating the capacity for continued success in the future. Cashroom is an inclusive organisation and actively promotes equality of opportunity for all. We welcome all applications from a wide range of candidates. Selection for roles will be based on individual merit alone. We have offices in Livingston, Scotland, Skelmersdale, England and Nebraska, USA but our team is distributed and we work as a remote team. This provides great benefits and flexibility to work where you perform best, whether that be in the office, at home or a combination of both. Occasional travel to office may be required from time to time. We know that passionate and driven people excel when they're all pulling in the same direction, which is why we strongly believe in our Cashroom values. These outline what we are, how we do things and where we want to be. Teamwork– We build relationships based on trust, honesty, respect and encouragement, and we have fun! Loyalty– We show commitment and foster team spirit by treating each other well and promoting a culture of positivity. Desire – We strive to be ambitious, energetic and determined – never settle for 'good enough' Opportunity– We develop staff, promote from within and embrace challenges - there's always something new to learn. Innovation– We are adventurous and creative, and always open-minded - strive for excellence at any level. Trust, Care & Respect – We are open, honest and committed to quality. We trust, care and are respectful to all our colleagues and clients. If these match your ethos, we think you'll be a great fit here at Cashroom. The role: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer at Cashroom, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that enhance our platform's capabilities. You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, and will advocate for best practice in quality, architecture and design. You should also have a strong understanding of the importance of maintainability, performance and scalability. As a team we embrace using the best technology available for the job at hand and encourage continuous learning.
