SUMMARY:
The Operations Support Specialist is responsible for collaborating with agency leaders to drive efficiencies and create a culture of operational excellence within Armstrong. In addition, the Operations Support Specialist will serve as a liaison between Armstrong agencies and UniGroup to help achieve these goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain positive growth in interstate hauling through driver retention/recruitment, ATP/Container utilization, training, and efficiencies that allow booking growth.
- Develop and implement plans for adoption of Transadvantage programs.
- Assist and develop strategies for unassigned orders and container moves.
- Enhance utilization of ATP fleet.
- Develop and implement roll-out and accountability plans for UniGroup programs.
- Keep enterprise updated of van line policy changes, due dates, and registration guidelines.
- Assist agencies with adoption and utilization of Stride and Flex.
- Assist in mainframe training as well as fleet and driver qualifications.
- Assist agencies with centers of excellence qualification .
- Align with enterprise goals and initiatives.
- Improve end-to-end understanding of the enterprise to enable broader and deeper impact.
- Improve leadership skills and maintain subject matter mastery to be recognized as the enterprise Operations expert across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outsourced partners.
- Develop and maintain agency relationships for reciprocity.
- Act in accordance with Armstrong DNA at all times.
- Any other duties as assigned by Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in the transportation/moving & storage industry.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Robust knowledge of supply chain, logistics, operations, and customer service.
- Knowledge of operational and quality reporting systems and ability to analyze data.
- Proven communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills, including root cause analysis.
