About the role
The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. We partner with governments, NGOs, foundations, and researchers to conduct rigorous evaluations of programs and policies. Our General Data & Research Associate position is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of research projects and support our global team. This role will involve data cleaning, analysis, and visualization, as well as other research-related tasks. Responsibilities: - Cleaning, processing, and analyzing data from a variety of sources - Producing visualizations and graphics to present analysis - Conducting literature reviews and summarizing key findings - Supporting project management and reporting - Collaborating with a global team of researchers and project managers Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. economics, statistics, computer science, mathematics) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R - Experience working with and analyzing large datasets - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Interest in economic development and poverty reduction
