Role Description The TGT English Social Science role is a full-time, on-site teaching position based at Cohen International School in Jatani. The educator will plan and deliver engaging lessons in English and Social Science for middle and secondary school students, aligning with the school’s curriculum and academic standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting classroom instruction, assigning and evaluating student work, and using assessments to track progress and support individual learning needs. The teacher will maintain classroom discipline, create an inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues on academic and co-curricular initiatives. Additional duties include participating in school events, parent meetings, student guidance activities, and contributing to clubs or enrichment programs related to language, humanities, and social awareness.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in English and Social Science, with the ability to teach concepts clearly and connect them to real-world contexts.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment, including the use of diverse teaching methods to address varied learning styles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to foster reading, writing, and critical thinking skills among students.
- Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment, support holistic student development, and encourage participation in literature, arts, and social awareness activities.
- Comfort with basic educational technology and digital tools for lesson delivery, assignments, and student feedback.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, Social Science, or a related field, along with relevant teaching certifications as per school or board requirements.
- Prior experience teaching at middle or secondary school level is preferred, especially in CBSE or similar curricula.
- Demonstrated collaborative attitude, professional ethics, and willingness to engage in co-curricular activities, student mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
