About the Role:
Zouk is looking for a creative and agile Textile Designer to spearhead print and surface
development across multiple upcoming collections. In this role, you will bridge the gap between
traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern consumer trends, translating stories into
commercial, high-quality fabric designs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Concept to Creation: Develop unique mood boards, color palettes, and artwork for print
collections from scratch for all our categories.
● Surface Exploration: Design and execute innovative surface techniques, including
embroidery, weaves, and diverse printing methods.
● Market Alignment: Apply consumer psychology to design products that resonate deeply
with the modern Indian consumer's lifestyle and preferences.
● Fabric Sourcing & Optimization: Leverage deep fabric knowledge to source materials
that align with Zouk’s cruelty-free, high-durability standards.
● Cost-Efficient Design: Maintain a cost-conscious attitude, engineering designs that
maximize visual impact while staying within production budgets.
● Vendor Coordination: Partner closely with vendors to oversee sampling, ensure quality
control, and streamline the sourcing process.
What We Are Looking For
Technical Expertise
● Software Mastery: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and
Procreate.
● Craft & Surface Knowledge: Strong understanding of traditional Indian crafts, weaving
structures, printing techniques, and commercial embroidery.
● Material Resourcefulness: In-depth knowledge of fabric behaviors, blends, and
alternative/sustainable materials.
Soft Skills
● Creative Storytelling: Ability to weave narrative, culture, and emotion into physical
textile designs.
● Attention to Detail: Precision in color matching, repeat patterns, and technical
tech-packs.
● Agility & Resilience: An inquisitive mind that thrives in a fast-paced environment and
adapts quickly to shifting trends or feedback.
● Collaboration: Strong communication skills to pitch ideas to stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
